On 22nd July 2014 I was engaged by agents for Wilhelmsen to provide a compass adjustment aboard their car carrier
Aniara. Built in 2008, she is Swedish flagged and her dimensions are 232m x 33m 71,673gt 30,089dwt making her slightly newer and larger than mv
Faust which was featured on the documentary series Mighty Ships. The ship is in very good condition, has excellent accomodation, manouvres brilliantly and is commanded by a very capable and pleasant female Swedish captain.
I boarded the ship late afternoon and rested up in the Pilot's cabin until we sailed at midnight. I disembarked with the pilot off Lonsdale at 0400 on the 23rd.
